Kyra Koustrup

Born and raised on a farm outside Delia, AB, I have determined three important things during my degree in English. Firstly, that I can't sit still for five minutes (not even five). Secondly, that bouldering is a life changing sport. Lastly, that an undergraduate degree is an invitation for fantastic character development. I intend to finish my degree in the spring before pursuing an MA in English.

 

My project explores Postcolonial Gothic in the fantasy of Marlon James, arguing that James' novel Black Leopard Red Wolf engages in gothic elements to subvert the postcolonial erasure of pre-colonial African culture.
